Today has taken place the second online workshop in the context of WP3, “Preparation of standardised operational guidelines”. The workshop saw the direct involvement of multidisciplinary teams of experts for a total number of 20 sector-specific professionals, focussed on designing operational guidelines against chemical risks in cross-border tunnels – looking at both equipment and procedures. The goal ultimately being enhancing the coordinated response to chemical events in cross-border road and rail tunnels in respect of national laws and in a cooperative way, developing harmonised processes and procedures to be tested in a real-life event and a network of practitioners.
As for the next steps, the focus will be first placed on further engaging CBRN experts via private communication means and through an additional workshop, then the floor will be left to the execution of the real-life exercise at Bielsa tunnel.
Stay tuned for more information on the upcoming workshops and the real-life exercise. In the meantime, head over to @transtun on Twitter
